Sofa Clean

Ah, so you've finally come around to cleaning the sofa and you want to know the best way. Good for you! The sofa maybe one of the most used items in the entire house, and use usually equals dirty so the sofa is also one of the dirtiest items in the house as well. So how long has it been since you had that sofa clean anyway?

Most people really fall in love with the furniture that they choose and they'd like to stick with as long as they can. Of course if the furniture starts looking bad, we may opt to ditch them instead. Keeping your sofa clean will require you to do regular cleaning maintenance on it.

So next time you vacuum your floors, go ahead and take a few minutes to tend to the sofa. Taking a vacuum to the sofa will pull off all of the dirt and grime that might be lingering around. It will also suck out a lot of dust from within the cushions.

If you vacuum your sofa at least once a week, this will help ensure that none of that dirt gets embedded in the actual fibers of the sofa. Keeping your sofa clean from dirt will help it look nicer in the long run as well. You should also take your cushions off and fluff them out periodically. You can even flip the cushions over and change positions to get the longest life out of them possible.

This goes without saying but keeping your house smoke free will give your sofa a better appearance and smell. Smoke may discolor the sofa, especially white sofas. Do your best to keep the sofa out of the direct light from the sun day and day out. If the sun hits the same spot on the sofa over and over, there is a good chance that it could fade the colors.

The best way to keep your sofa clean is to set rules in your house. Make sure regular cleaning maintenance is done on the sofa and that no one is to eat or smoke on or near them. Keeping pets and shoes off the sofa will help as well.

Try to get your sofa protected from stains using a fabric protector. This will help ensure that any spills that do occur won't set into the sofa and leave a stain. If you don't have a fabric protector do your best to get to the spill as fast as possible and try to blot the spill out rather than rubbing.

There are also professional people who can come to your house and do a bang up sofa clean job. I would only use them as a last resort if you can't repair it and depending only on how long you care to keep your sofa around.
